Atlanta, GA (April 1, 2025) - Inter Atlanta FC is proud to announce its acceptance into the Girls Academy Aspire League for our U13-U19 ADP teams, further strengthening its commitment to providing elite opportunities for female athletes.
ASPIRE, a Girls Academy (GA) league is designed to provide a structured, merit-based pathway for ambitious clubs and players. ASPIRE strengthens the player development model by creating a competitive environment where clubs can develop, compete, and progress within the GA ecosystem while upholding the highest standards of excellence and long-term sustainability.
“We’re very excited to be accepted into another high-quality, nationally recognized league for our girls’ program,” said Inter Atlanta FC Director of Coaching John Downey. “Our female athletes have deserved the opportunity to compete at the highest levels for many years.”
Inter Atlanta FC will also continue our participation in the Development Player League (DPL) with our U13-U19 Blue level teams. The GA and DPL are committed to providing competitive programming at every level, ensuring clubs and players have access to the most structured, high-level opportunities in girls’ soccer.
“We joined the DPL just four years ago. In that time, eight Inter Atlanta teams have gone on to qualify for, and compete in, the national championships,” Downey added. “Having the opportunity to remain in the DPL while adding GA Aspire is a testament to how far the club, and more specifically our girls program, has come in the last few years.”
The addition of GA Aspire and the continued presence in the DPL will elevate the level of play for Inter Atlanta’s most competitive teams. This move aligns with the club’s broader mission of providing quality soccer opportunities for players at every level, including new free or low-cost community-based programs.
